Anamaria Marinca is a Romanian actress. Her screen debut came with Sex Traffic, a Channel 4 film Sex Traffic for which she won the British Academy Television Award for the Best Actress. The actress speaks French, German, English and Romanian fluently. Her father is the theater professor for one of Romania's finest theater schools. The Youth Actor Gala Mangalia awarded her the Best Female Actor Award of 2000. The year 2008 saw her honoured as an European Shooting Star" by the European Film Promotion Board. Aside from her brilliant performance in Sex Traffic, Anamaria Marinca is best remembered by the character she played in Romanian artist film 4 months 3, Weeks, 2, Days. This film received a number of awards, including an award called the European Film Award Best Actress given by the British Film Critics. She was in 2007 the lead role in on the Romanian film 4 luni 3 saptamani si2 zile (4 Three Weeks, Four Months, and 3 Weeks, 2 Days) 4 months 3 weeks 2 days, directed by Cristian Mungiu (4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days). The film received two awards at Cannes Film Festival (the Cinema Prize for the French National Education System & the FIPRESCI Prize). Additionally, she was a part in Francis Ford Coppola's film Youth Without Youth. In 2008 she was the character Yasim Anwar in BBC mini-series The Last Enemy. Marinca had roles in Oliver Hirschbiegel's Five Minutes of Heaven as also in the Romanian film Boogie. She later played Irma's German Aunt in Fury the film, which came out in the year 2014.
