Christina Haack was conceived in Anaheim, California. Her first job post-school was that of an agent for real estate. This is where she got to know Tarek. The couple ran a prosperous business, until 2008, when real estate agents, house flippers, and many others broke. Tarek El Moussa and Christina El Moussa lost nearly everything because of the 2008 stock market collapse. The cost of their apartment was just $700 per week compared to the $6,000 they were paying per month for their house. The economy and their business overall slowly regenerated. HGTV and Rise to Fame Tarek asked a close friend to make an HGTV audition film in 2011, which featured him and Christina flipping a whole house. Pie Town Productions executive received the tape. These executives were in love with Tarek, Christina and their stories. They officially signed a deal with HGTV in 2012. "Flip of Flop" began its premiere in April of 2013. For seven seasons, the show ran from 2013 until 2017. In the show, Christina and Tarek would purchase properties, usually middle-income houses located in Orange County, and would later spend a few months making improvements so that they could sell the home in order to earn profit. Tarek's primary focus is deconstruction and renovating, while Christina prefers design.
